I have yet to know a case of a Spanish startup which hires a star CPO/CTO from abroad and works successfully. They may come from fancy companies, but the reality of a scale-up startup is fucking different.
I don’t know why these star CPTO are obsesed with hiring product and tech people from Google, Twitter, etc. Those professionals have experience in a complete different challenge.
The star CPTO won’t be able to make it, half of your team (the best ones) will leave and you will need two years to recover from the “desaguisado”. Dear CEO, don’t shoot your own feet. Scaling is hard enough!
